Good morning friends! I don’t know how hard it is for you all, but I know for me it is very hard for me to live my faith on a daily basis. I partially blame my Catholic upbringing. WHAT? That’s right, and I’ll explain it to you now:
**This is my personal experience with my faith. I respect and understand all journeys are individual. This is not speaking for every Catholic out there, please keep this in mind.**
My mom and step-dad did not foster a sense of faith, spirituality, or religion in my brothers, step sisters and I. We were those “Chreaster Catholics”. (We maybe made it to Mass on Christmas and Easter, and not a day in between.) My grandmother was very much a huge part of my faith development. During summer vacations and after gaining custody of me, I went to church with her every Sunday. I was 14 when she gained custody of me. I began building my faith, but she was old school (pre-Vatican II) Catholic and we prayed, and went to Mass, but not much else. My experience in the Catholic church was not one of sharing my faith with others.
This morning I came across an amazing little site called “GIVElove365” and have never been more excited for a movement (other than my TOMS). It is based on Matthew, chapter 7, verse 12:
“Do to others whatever you would have them do to you. This is the law and the prophets.” [from USCCB.org]
I love how it is worded on the GIVElove website:
Ask yourself what you would want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them, for this is the Law…

In my life I try to do unto others as I would like to have them do for me. I am mostly passive in this though, and do things because it seems like the right thing to do. I am excited for this website to help take a more active role in spreading my faith, my love… my blessings!
