Ten For Tuesday :: Cookies to Social Media and More!

Oh, it’s Tuesday! As I sat here this morning upon our 5 am wake up call and waited for the oven to pre-heat for Hubs’ breakfast, ideas of what I would blog about danced through my head! I all byt forgot about it being Tuesday and the new link-up I joined in last week. It’s not all too new since today is the ONE HUNDRETH link! For me, it’s numero dos! Thanks google reader for taking me once more over to Roots and Rings for Ten on Tuesday!

1. How do you take your coffee?
Not near me, not in the same room as me, preferably not in the same house as me. There is nothing about coffee I enjoy – not even the smell. Gross.

2. Do you prefer soft or crispy chocolate chip cookies?
Hmmm… I don’t think I’ve ever met a chocolate chip cookie I didn’t like, but I’m more the hard cookie gal

3. Do you wear a belt everyday?
I wear a belt never. Have you seen this waist? Definitely not a “belt” kind of waist.

4. What is your favorite color combination?
PINK AND GREEN! They are so chic and cute together. Although, I must admit I really dig my warm colors: red, orange and yellow! In any combo!

5. Do you like sour candy?
Nope. I can do one or two sour gummy worms, but overall am not a fan at all!

6. How often do you do laundry?
We do laundry on Sunday. Quite frankly, I hate laundry and will hold off on it until I literally have no clothing left and need to wash at least an outift.

7. Did you ever wear braces?
I was lucky and never wore braces, or a retainer. I have some pretty good teeth!

8. Are you good at Roman Numerals?
I pretty much only know the big ones.

9. What is your favorite form of social media?
Social media can sometimes be a bit too much for me. You all know you can find me on the twitter all the time. I just don’t like the drama and the whining. I am quick to follow people on twitter and quick to not friend people on Facebook. I think fb is more for people I know in real like and twitter is for the people I wish I knew in real life!

10. How do you feel about chin dimples?
I never really thought about it! Hubs has a chin dimple, so I guess I don’t mind all that much. He isn’t Jay Leno, so it’s cute.

Ten Things :: VACATION!

I saw this over on Lauren’s blog: Enchanting, and had to jump in… you know, since I’m getting ready for our “working” vacation! It’s from a new to me blog: Roots and Rings!  Get ready to learn a little more about me and my vacation dreams!

1. What is your dream vacation?

Not to be the awkward one, but anywhere with my husband would be good enough for me. Beyond that I think a Mediterranean cruise would be wicked awesome!

 

2. What has been your favorite trip so far in your life?
July 4th weekend, 2008. This was the first trip my husband and I ever took (when we were just getting serious in dating)! We went to a small island in the Chesapeake Bay: Tangier! Oh, It was AMAZING! You take a ferry over to this island that was lost in time! The people there still speak with a hint of Olde English and it’s almost like they have their own language! They have electricity, but no cars on the island- only bikes and golf carts, but you can walk everywhere! We stayed in a cute little Bed and Breakfast. It rained almost the whole time, which was creepy when you could see water no matter where you were. We missed our crabbing tour, but it was just an amazing trip into history! 

 

3. If you and one of your best friends could go anywhere in the world for one week, where would it be and why?
Anywhere? I don’t even know enough about the world to make this decision so I would have to consult Hubs. He’s seen so many amazing places thanks to the Navy. My dream would be Ireland, naturally though.

 

4. Have you ever booked a trip using an online deal? How did it go?

Nope. The only online deal I’ve looked for when booking a trip would be airlines.

 

5. What’s your favorite thing to do while you’re on vacation?

Experience things we never would otherwise and eat regional food. When we were in Texas and Tennessee we ate bar-b-que, when we go to South Carolina we eat pretty much nothing but shrimp! Hubs’ dad knows where to get the.best.shrimp!

 

6. Have you ever missed an opportunity to take a trip that you regret?

I don’t have a passport. The only thing I could even kind of count would have been meeting Hubs in a few of the ports they stopped at last deployment, but he worked so hard I would have been alone most of the time. I just accepted that’s how it works with a husband in the medical department of a Carrier and didn’t look at it as a missed opportunity.

 

7. You travel far away from home and get stranded with no way to buy anything, what’s the one thing you can’t live without?

I’d like to think if I was in this situation I would have been previously trained by Bear Gryles, or else I wouldn’t be wandering around to get caught in this position. I’;; go with a swiss army knife so I could do some survival stuff. If it was on vacation and I got stranded though, I would say: enough money to make a phone call to get money wired to me, or get to the American Embassy.

 

8. What’s one of your favorite traveling memories?

I will have to not retell the story of Tangier, so I will go with our South Carolina Christmas 2009. We were already married but nobody knew, so it was our mini honeymoon. We went to Beaufort one night for dinner and to see where Hubs’ great grandparents lived, we followed interstate signs to Georgia without a map or GPS to get us to Savannah, and we just enjoyed each other in our alone time away from family.

 

9. All included resort or backpacking? Why?

All inclusive resort. We’re not really outdoorsy type people.

 

10. Are you more of a lie on the beach kind of person on vacation, or do you prefer to see the sights?

See the sights! It is most likely something I will never see again, whereas I grew up within half hour distance to the beach the most.

 

How fun was this? Now you know a little bit more about me and my amazing travels *cough, cough*. Maybe one day we’ll be travellers!

Millie Fillie | 7.29.11

I noticed these popping up in my google reader and I used to do them every week… then somewhere along the line I fell off the face of the earth with them. Here I am folks, back for the millie fillie

1. Facebook or Twitter?
They both have their pros and cons. I always have them both open on my screen too! FB is more for college and high school folks, people from organizations, and women whom I don’t want to lose contact with as the navy takes us our separate ways. Twitter I use more to build relationships with my bloggy loves

2. Hard Tacos or Soft Tacos?
Definitely the crunch of a hard taco… until I moved to Southern California! Nothing beats a street taco- a small, petite taco with a soft-ish handmade shell, from like cornmeal or something? If it’s taco bell though, it’s definitely some mexi-melts

3. Gardening or crafting?
Well, we’re not really allowed to take part in yard maintenance at this house since the landlords hire people, so I have to go with crafting! I can’t wait to get our HHGs and set up all my craft supplies I’ve been reaming of how it will be set up!

4. Fruit or vegetables?
Oh man, most definitely fruit! Veggies I find need dressing, which adds calories… or butter, lots of butter.

5.  Motorcycle or bicycle?
Definitely bicycle. A friend of mine died on his motorcycle a few years back and it was pretty traumatic for me. Southern California has also made me loathe motorcyclists! They are pure CRAZY on the roads! Hubs and I definitely miss our days in Coronado, riding our beach cruisers everywhere! Now my pink beauty sits in the garage, waiting for our next move, so we’re back to the beach and not the mountains and can ride them
